One of its programs is about nutrition and weight status that aims to promote health and reduce chronic diseases through having a healthy diet that would also facilitate the achievement and maintenance of ideal body weights. The government recognizes the health benefits of eating a balanced diet and being able to maintain a healthy body weight as well as the important roles of the policies and environments that influence individual eating behaviors. The department believes that good nutrition impacts the growth and development of children. This would also reduce the risk of obesity, malnutrition, high blood pressure, heart disease, diabetes, dental decay, and food poisoning. It would also lead to better psychological well-being and longer life expectancy. We should encourage nutritious eating behaviors because they have a substantial impact on overall health and outlook in life. A balanced diet can lead to an ideal body weight and boost mental health and well-being. These benefits of a healthy and balanced diet point to overall wellness for individuals.
